An open letter to BBC

Dear ‪#‎BBC‬,
I am a common Indian girl nobody knows because no short films were ever made about me.Here is what i have been wanting to say since I heard about your documentary.
We are a nation that was home to Ms Anandibai Gopalrao Joshee (31 March 1865 – 26 February 1887),the first south Asian woman to get a degree in western medicine.
Ms Indra Noyee(Pepsi co) and Ms Chanda Kochhar(ICICI) are some names that need no introduction in the business world, and guess what, they are Indians too.
Jhumpa Lahiri,Arundhati Roy and Kiran Desai have inked the pages of Indian literature so beautifully that its got to last for centuries to come.
Speaking of performing arts,The world knows its India that pioneered the former.Women from all ages are artsy enough.
We are a nation that accepts people from all over the world to amalgamate, create and inspire.
Mary Kom,PT Usha,Saina Nehwal -girls that brought home medals and inspired millions.
And Finally,People like Laxmi, acid attack survivor who found true love and Nirbhaya, whose fighting spirit ignited a fire that has refused to die out.
They are ‪#‎Indiasdaughter‬,i am #Indiasdaughter, every Indian woman is #indiasdaughter. You simply don't get to selectively portray flaws on international platform and get away with it.While words like 'freedom of expression' sounds nice in retrospect, lets not forget that there is much more to the title you picked. My country is not perfect, but then no other country is.
This has further reinforced the idea as to why content oriented movies like Devdas,Lagaan,Taare zameen par failed to win Oscars but Slumdog Millionare,a mere adaptation did.
On March 8 2015,International women's day,

IIT Kanpur MBA Interview experience 2016

H ello. Trying to blog about an experience isn't my forte , comments would be appreciated. While I looked for articles on this topic, I didn't find anything useful. So here I am to tell you about my experience. I write CAT 2015 in November and my result was quite a shock (dont ask why)!!.I knew my chances were bleak, but something in me whispered to fill out the application forms. I filled out the MBA form for IITK &  was called to IITK Campus for further rounds on April 3,2016 at 2 PM. Upon reaching, the first hall we had to report to had busy student coordinators handing out the checklist. They also offered to help with photocopies and other last minute stuff, which showed how meticulously they took their work. After the checklist, I was sent to another room where all my documents and mark sheets were verified, percentages recalculated and submitted. I was allotted a number and a panel. After this, we were escorted to a conference hall where the briefing abo

5 new ways to drape your dupatta and scarves this year!

Hey all, attempting my first fashion related post,Do let me know how is it in comments. Scarves are a cheap yet chic way to add an oomph to an everyday outfit, and can be worn in winters as well as summers. It is important to pick a scarf in the way you want to wear it,whether it means picking a scarf as the star and building an outfit around it,or realizing you need to fix a malfunction (pee-a-boo) and add a drape to soften the look. The fabric, print and the color affect how each knot looks,so play around. I scourged through Pinterest one lazy afternoon, and here are my best picks. 1: The half bow: Effortless and sexy.Works well for long as well as short scarves. Five best Open source (and FREE ) software you should be using already!!

For those of you who do not know what Free and Open Source software is,Google is your friend. [Free = Free speech and not Free Beer]. Its okay, you can read this article without any prior knowledge of open source. All software listed below are free to download,or at least try.Keep in mind that the latest isn't always the best, sometimes going down a version or two can really help with the stability. It may require a little breaking into the new shoes, but the output is definitely worth it.This is not to say that all proprietary software is useless, but its good to know that we have alternatives. 1: No License for Microsoft office?  Use LibreOffice,KOffice or OpenOffice Instead. Its free, stable and has more features and add-ins.Explore before you give up and thank me later 2: Use GIMP ( GNU Image Manipulation Tool)  to "Photoshop" your Photoshop woes.Again, stick with it,you'll be rewarded. And check out Blender if you're into modelling and animation. 3:What??
