5 Types of people you'll meet at an MBA College

When you set your foot in a new college, your mind is more agitated at the thought of meeting new people than your academic worries. And lets not kid ourselves, these are the people we would share the next few years of our lives with,so they better be good. Here is a list of typical characters you're likely to come across if you are in an MBA College:

1-The Jargon Master-He is the one who blurts out "credit/debit" in your very first finance lecture,or "returns to scale" in marketing, inviting questioning looks from the whole class and taking pride in his sprint start. While his intentions may be noble, his timing is not,and soon the prof. shoots him down!

2-The Startup Guy-Oh,the guy who's doing an MBA just so it helps pitch in investors for his next facebook,or to build contacts and leverage the right ones.He doesnt care about the final placements, and has dreams that most of us had as a kid.May he succeed,so that you all get hired by him :D

3-The Teacher's pet.-Here's to our own Chatur. This person asks the same question 4579039 times in class just to make sure teacher remembers his/her name, and unnecessarily drags the class.He/She also cries at every .5 marks lost, and makes sure he gets an A in internal assessment. In exams,he's God!

4-The Clueless One-Be it a usual engineer turned MBA student,or an ex IAS aspirant looking for a backup option, there is an air of sophistication around them. They know a great deal about interesting stuff, and are actually able to carry on a convo beyond Marketing and Economics.

5-The committee Guy/Girl- Whether its running around for placements,or organizing cultural fests, this person has to be involved in literally EVERYTHING!!.But as long as he/she gets you access to the most happening things in the college, you're happy!!

IIT Kanpur MBA Interview experience 2016

H ello. Trying to blog about an experience isn't my forte , comments would be appreciated. While I looked for articles on this topic, I didn't find anything useful. So here I am to tell you about my experience. I write CAT 2015 in November and my result was quite a shock (dont ask why)!!.I knew my chances were bleak, but something in me whispered to fill out the application forms. I filled out the MBA form for IITK &  was called to IITK Campus for further rounds on April 3,2016 at 2 PM. Upon reaching, the first hall we had to report to had busy student coordinators handing out the checklist. They also offered to help with photocopies and other last minute stuff, which showed how meticulously they took their work. After the checklist, I was sent to another room where all my documents and mark sheets were verified, percentages recalculated and submitted. I was allotted a number and a panel. After this, we were escorted to a conference hall where the briefing abo

5 new ways to drape your dupatta and scarves this year!

Hey all, attempting my first fashion related post,Do let me know how is it in comments. Scarves are a cheap yet chic way to add an oomph to an everyday outfit, and can be worn in winters as well as summers. It is important to pick a scarf in the way you want to wear it,whether it means picking a scarf as the star and building an outfit around it,or realizing you need to fix a malfunction (pee-a-boo) and add a drape to soften the look. The fabric, print and the color affect how each knot looks,so play around. I scourged through Pinterest one lazy afternoon, and here are my best picks. 1: The half bow: Effortless and sexy.Works well for long as well as short scarves. Five best Open source (and FREE ) software you should be using already!!

For those of you who do not know what Free and Open Source software is,Google is your friend. [Free = Free speech and not Free Beer]. Its okay, you can read this article without any prior knowledge of open source. All software listed below are free to download,or at least try.Keep in mind that the latest isn't always the best, sometimes going down a version or two can really help with the stability. It may require a little breaking into the new shoes, but the output is definitely worth it.This is not to say that all proprietary software is useless, but its good to know that we have alternatives. 1: No License for Microsoft office?  Use LibreOffice,KOffice or OpenOffice Instead. Its free, stable and has more features and add-ins.Explore before you give up and thank me later 2: Use GIMP ( GNU Image Manipulation Tool)  to "Photoshop" your Photoshop woes.Again, stick with it,you'll be rewarded. And check out Blender if you're into modelling and animation. 3:What??
