Things to do in IIT Kanpur

Hello.
Writing a blog post after a long time so it will be a long one, albeit I bet I can keep you hooked till the very end!
So ,if you have been reading my previous blogs ,you'd know my academic qualifications. This post is isn't about me.It is about a place where I have spent close to 18 months now,and will be departing from here soon. The time here has been full of life changing events and life has been anything but boring. So to wrap things up,this post is a way of leaving behind the parts of being in an institute of national repute that most people don't talk about.
No,I am not going to debunk the placement statistics like popular YouTubers do just to gain some views and make other people feel better about their lives. The truth is, statistics are the easiest way to lie. In this post I am going to write about a few things I and my batch mates have personally experienced (LEGALLY!) over the course of our stay. This list is by no means exhaustive. I've tried to provide pictures wherever possible. So read on,enjoy.Suggestions are most welcome.

THINGS TO DO @ IITK

1: PARAGLIDING : IIT Kanpur is bestowed with an airstrip of its own,and for Rs 500 you (and your friends or family that come to visit you) can ride in a glider for 5 minutes. I recorded my experience and its here.
2: WALL CLIMBING: Check out the official website for this one.
3: GYMNASIUM AND SPORTS Every Hall (not hostel) has a Gymnasium and open courts, and state of the art courts & gyms exist in complexes.Take advantage of it and go impress your crush,Now.Did I mention that these facilities are at a heavily subsidized price? I had access to an Olympic sized swimming pool for INR 300/month.
4: EAT TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT :I will be doing a separate blog post on this and leave the link here soon.
5: LIFE'S A PICNIC,EVERYDAY. The views, open roads and greenery shall not make you run for hill stations.
6: ASIA'S LARGEST LIBRARY: This is a claim almost every old IIT makes, but its worth checking out.
7: LAZE AROUND IN CAFE COFFEE DAY: In the most subsidized CCD of the country, the quality is at par with what we get outside.Best of all,the view is great at all times of the day.Sit outside and enjoy sunset while sipping latte,or pull an all nighter here during exams.
8: BUFFER FREE INTERNET: The lowest I've seen my LAN speed go is 5MBps.On wifi, its close to Mbps (megabits).
9: LAZY AFTERNOON STROLLS AND MINDLESS EVENING CYCLE WALKS
10:FESTS,FESTS AND MORE FESTS: Move over the famous ones like TechKriti and Antaragni,Talk about Prabandhan (business conclave),Udghosh,Inferno and Galaxy for crowd free, relaxed experiences.

IIT Kanpur MBA Interview experience 2016

H ello. Trying to blog about an experience isn't my forte , comments would be appreciated. While I looked for articles on this topic, I didn't find anything useful. So here I am to tell you about my experience. I write CAT 2015 in November and my result was quite a shock (dont ask why)!!.I knew my chances were bleak, but something in me whispered to fill out the application forms. I filled out the MBA form for IITK &  was called to IITK Campus for further rounds on April 3,2016 at 2 PM. Upon reaching, the first hall we had to report to had busy student coordinators handing out the checklist. They also offered to help with photocopies and other last minute stuff, which showed how meticulously they took their work. After the checklist, I was sent to another room where all my documents and mark sheets were verified, percentages recalculated and submitted. I was allotted a number and a panel. After this, we were escorted to a conference hall where the briefing abo

5 new ways to drape your dupatta and scarves this year!

Hey all, attempting my first fashion related post,Do let me know how is it in comments. Scarves are a cheap yet chic way to add an oomph to an everyday outfit, and can be worn in winters as well as summers. It is important to pick a scarf in the way you want to wear it,whether it means picking a scarf as the star and building an outfit around it,or realizing you need to fix a malfunction (pee-a-boo) and add a drape to soften the look. The fabric, print and the color affect how each knot looks,so play around. I scourged through Pinterest one lazy afternoon, and here are my best picks. 1: The half bow: Effortless and sexy.Works well for long as well as short scarves. International management Institute (IMI) New Delhi Interview experience,2016

Hey all,This is the first time I'm blogging about an experience, comments would be appreciated. While I looked for articles on this topic,I didn't find any.So here I am to tell you about my experience. After clearing CAT 2015,the biggest hurdle of all(Probably),I filled out the application for IMI Delhi on Jan 25 on the insistence of a close friend.I was called to IMI New Delhi campus for further rounds on February 20,2016 at 2 PM. On reaching, the hall had about 8 panels with 7-8 participants each .Each panel sat on chairs neatly arranged in a row one after the other. The faculty members came and handed us our IDs with panel number and candidate number. Then Came the presentation about IMI,given by their head (forgetting his name here, sorry :P ) and he walked us all through the legacy of IMI. There were two rounds-WAT and PI.Extempore round was included in the PI. For Written Aptitude Test(WAT),a girl was called to pick up a chit that contained the topic. Our topic was &qu
